We Hacked Pinterest to Create the First-ever 360º Shoppable Experience Inside a Pin
As Group Creative Director at 22Squared, I led the creative on this work for The Home Depot. We wanted to give first-time homeowners the confidence to move from inspiration to action - to turn the rooms they'd been pinning into rooms they actually built.
The answer was Built-in Pins: a series of complete rooms, built start-to-finish inside a single Pinterest Pin, then time-lapsed so viewers could watch each transformation unfold. We hacked One-Tap Pins to deliver the world's first 360º shoppable experience inside Pinterest - viewers could step into each room and add the products they wanted directly to their cart. Each Pin became a microhub of how-to content, DIY tips, and shoppable Pins, and we extended the experience into the real world with Pincodes in The Home Depot stores, connecting digital inspiration to the aisle.
“With over 500 pieces of content and a unique 360º shopping experience, this campaign was the most effective work we’ve seen in a long time.”
